Dr. Andreas Samourides (PhD), is a post-doctoral fellow at the BioLISYS laboratory at CUT. He obtained his BEng in Medical Engineering (2010-2013) from University of Surrey and MSc in Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine (2013-2014) from the University of Sheffield. He was then funded by the University of Sheffield (2014-2018) to continue his studies as a PhD where he worked on synthesizing, fabricating and characterizing scaffolds for skin, oral mucosa, cartilage and tendon tissue engineering. His expertise is in designing biomimetic synthetic scaffolds focusing on physical and biological properties and he has large experience in many scaffold fabrication methods including freeze-drying, electrospinning and porogen leaching as well as biomaterial characterization.
